Roundabout „U Koruny“ in Hradec Králové

The Crossroads U Koruny in the center of Hradec Králové were replaced by a roundabout for better transport service. Part of this roundabout is a steel structure in the form of a royal crown on which the overhead contact line is suspended. EŽ Praha provided complete reconstruction of the trolleybus line, including the modification of the project solution at the roundabout and the relaying of the power cable.

The foundations for the masts were pilot – drilled, the pilot made of a steel tube of length 4, resp. 6m set into the base. In addition, there were built 44 octagonal conical masts adapted for public lighting.

The overhead contact line is simple, non-tensioned, with flexible hinges. The load-bearing network of stainless steel ropes is suspended on existing hinges on the houses and on the new masts, and in the roundabout the OSC is hung on a steel structure. The delivery included Three sets of electrical and mechanical switches and one EV and MV set in the form of a crossover switch. The total length of the new contact wire Cu 100 mm2 was 2 370 m.
